About
Chamber Music Forum Scotland came into being as a result of the Music Department of the Scottish Arts Council's desire to develop sector forums to represent the interests of particular genres of music. The Traditional Music Forum and the Scottish Jazz Federation were the first two such networks to be established and were joined in March 2008 by the Scottish Music Industry Association, which represents contemporary rock and pop music. Now they are joined by Chamber Music Forum Scotland.
Who we are and what we do
Chamber Music Forum Scotland is a membership organisation which represents the interests of Scotland's groups, ensembles and promoters. Membership encompasses professional chamber music groups, both instrumental and vocal and professional promoters of chamber music and festivals which feature chamber music. The forum will work to develop audiences for chamber music and raise the profile of performers, promoting growth in Scottish Chamber Music in Scotland, the UK and Internationally and will advocate on behalf of the sector. It will take the lead in representing and consolidating small-scale professional music-making which currently presents some of the highest-quality music and musicians and most innovative live music in Scotland.
Chamber Music Forum Scotland is currently run by an Executive Committee and has a full-time Administrator, based at the Scottish Music Centre.
