Pure Brass

Pure Brass are a vibrant, young and well established brass quintet who look to bring top class music making to people of all ages throughout Scotland and further afield. In a relatively short period of time, the group has built up widespread experience, working extensively in recital, giving numerous educational concerts and performing at many prestigious events.
Formed in 2006 at the RSAMD the group has quickly become a prominent ensemble within the Scottish chamber music scene. Pure Brass have recently been accepted into the very prestigious Live Music Now! Scheme, and are greatly looking forward to the opportunities and training that the scheme will give them. At their first attempts, Pure Brass have been shortlisted for the ‘EMS Residency Project’, subsequently being requested to perform for the ‘EMS Tours Conference’ and were also the only brass group to make the final for the 2008 Tunnel Trust Award.
Pure Brass has performed in solo recitals throughout Scotland as well as performing in collaboration with other Artists. Recent engagements have seen them perform alongside John Wallace, Bryan Allen and Dr John Kitchen to celebrate the centenary of the installation of the organ at Dunkeld Cathedral, which was subsequently made into a live recording. With an extensive repertoire list, Pure Brass have performed Contemporary recitals throughout the U.K, whilst also performing mixed recitals including early music, light classics, Jazz and music from the shows. With such a varied repertoire as well as the ability to arrange any requests, Pure Brass can tailor a programme to suit the mood of any event or occasion.
